It’s been a busy week so I’ve been staying in and going through my pantry more. I’ve had this sakura yōkan for a little bit that was the perfect brightness for a grey day. Yōkan is one of the Japanese sweets that really doesn’t translate appetizingly to English, it’s sweetened, smooth bean paste with gelatin. It’s wonderful! A little firm, not too sweet, it’s really a great texture and there are so many flavours to try.
